Bringing in the bride and groom
One of the events in Minangkabau Wedding where the bride and groom is carried to the wedding house. In rural and coastal areas there may even be a groom price. The bride doesn’t leave home; instead, the husband moves in with her. After the wedding, the bridegroom is escorted to the home of his bride, proudly taking with him all his possessions or his workshop, proving he’s a man of substance.
