Batik traditional at Homestay
Mr Hassan Bin Ismail has been in the batik business for almost 20 years. The batik’s he produces are exported to New Zealand and also sold around tourist areas in Penang.
Batik is a cloth that traditionally uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. Malaysian batik often displays plants and flowers to avoid the interpretation of human and animal images as idolatry, in accordance with local Islamic doctrine.
